Italy's Bonatti Refuge is very special.

On our two day Italian excursion we'll climb to Italy's Entre deux Saute Pass (2500 metres). The other three days, on foot from our comfortable chalet base or after an easy drive in private minibus we can conquer a selection of local peaks and experience some of the most dramatic snowshoe routes in the Alps.

ITINERARY

We prefer not to set out a rigid fixed itinerary but rather to adjust the daily outings around the weather, conditions and needs of the individual groups. Below however is a typicle one week Snowshoe Safari / Bonatti Refuge programme.

Sunday Included transfer from airport. (1 1/4 hour drive) Briefing at dinner

Monday - Leaving on foot from the chalaet we climb 800 metres to the summit of the Prarion Mountain (1969 Metres) approaching from the south. Our descent back to the chalet takes us to the Norther side of the mountain as we descend to the hamlet of Charrousse featured in the epic film "the Mountain" starring Spencer Tracey.

Tuesday / Wednesday. - Two day expedition: We'll explore the dramatic Ferret Valley in Italy and overnight at the Bonatti Refuge (2020m) with its stunning view of the Southern flank of the Mont Blanc range. With excellent food and spotlessy clean and comfortable accommodation, the Bonatti is a splendid place to overnight. On day two of our expedition we plan to climb to the "Entre deux Saut" Pass (2500) metres

Thursday: Free day. There are many options available: downhill skiing
(lessons available), cross country skiing, a glacier walk with a UIAGM mountain guide, ice climbing, tandem paragliding, helicopter sightseeing flights over Mont Blanc, a trip on one of Europe's highest cable cars, the Aiguille du Midi, a ride on the Montenvers train to view the 'Mer de Glace', free rides on the Mont Blanc express train and local busses to Chamonix for shopping and sightseeing, Perhaps a relaxing visit to the exclusive nearby spa with indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam bath, sauna, tropical showers, fitness room and outdoor terrace.

Friday From Le Buet we explore the wild and picturesque Berrard Valley before rising high to the south facing Loriaz Plateau for fantastic views of the famous peaks of the Mont Blanc Massif including the Aiguille Vert, the Drus, and the Chardonnet. We will be able to see three countries at once (Italy, France and Switzerland)!

Saturday We drive the hill featured in Lance Armstrong's last Tour de France to arrive at the sleapy villlage of Romme (1300 metres) from where we commence our climb to the Tete de la Salaz 2026. Arriving on this peak 1400 metres over the Arve Valley It is an inspirational experience. We admire some of the other dramatic peaks of the Aravis Mountains streting into the distance.
