ITINERARY:

SUNDAY: Included transfer from Geneva airport.(1 1/4 hour drive) Briefing at dinner'

MONDAY: A short walk from the chalet is the Prarion ski lift which will whisk us up to a enjoy a dramatic panorama of the Mont Blanc Range. We pass a little cheese farm on our scenic walk down to the Col de Voza where we board the Tramway du Mont Blanc and ride up to France's highest railway station, the Nid Aigle at 2370 meters where there is an absolutely amazing view of the Bionnassay Glacier. The Tramway du Mont Blanc carries us down to the Bellevue Cable car which in turn descends us to Les Houches.

TUESDAY: The highest cable car in Europe, the Aiguille du Midi which summits at 3842 metres is surely one of the Wonders of the World - a unique "gateway to the high alps". Descending to the middle station we set off on the legendary "Balcon Nord" reaching the formidable look out point over the Mer de Glace named after Forbes, the famous British geologist. A cable car takes us down to the glacier grotto and we can actually explore inside the glacier. The Montenvers train brings us back to Chamonix.

WEDNESDAY: We alight from the charming Bossons chairlift (1349m) and in the very footsteps of the first ascent of Mont Blanc we climb to the Pyramides snack bar (1900m) for the "mother of all" glacier views across Europe's largest ice fall, the Bossons Glacier. 30 minutes further up we view the Taconnaz glacier with its deep crevasses and towering seracs. We descend the same route to the Chalet du Glacier for a relaxing coffee while admiring the tongue of the Bossons glacier towering above us.

THURSDAY: Free day. Explore Chamonix, take a train ride to the museums in Martigny in Switzerland along with the St. Bernard dog museum and Roman arena. Or perhaps an exciting tandem paragliding ride

FRIDAY:
We drive across the Col des Montets and into Switzerland soon reaching the summit of the Forclaz pass in Switzerland (1526m) a level trail provides us with excellent views of the Trient glacier. We return to the minibus and drive up to 2000 metres to the spectacular Emossen Dam. Our level walk flanking the Lake is inspirational.

SATURDAY:
We drive along the spectacular Arly Valley passing the resort of Megeve to the Lake of Annecy to explore nature reserve at the mouth of the lake. Then we climb the hills above the lake for a spectalar panorama. Finally we explore the old town of Annecy, aptly named the "Venice of the Alps". In our opinion Annecy is the most beautiful town in France.
