ITINERARY:

SUNDAY: Included transfer from Geneva airport.(1 1/4 hour drive) Briefing at dinner'

MONDAY: A relaxed walk in the Chamonix region while we learn many of the names of the Alpine Flowers while enjoying the magnificent surrounding scenery.

TUESDAY TO WEDNESDAY: An easy two day outing to the beautiful Ferret Valley in Italy. A climb or 250 metres brings us to the Elena Refuge for coffee. Our balcony walk gives us access to an unbelievable variety of flowers. Another 300 metres climb takes us into the heart of the Malatra Valley. Many photos later a short descend brings us to the new and very comfortable Bonatti Refuge for dinner and over night stop. In the morning we continue our balcony walk and explore the Armina Valley. Later it's afternoon coffee at the Bertoni refuge before descending back into the Ferret Valley.

THURSDAY: Free day. Explore Chamonix, take a train ride to the museums in Martigny in Switzerland along with the St. Bernard dog museum and Roman arena. Or perhaps an exciting tandem paragliding ride

FRIDAY:
The Jaÿsinia Gardens in the village of Samoëns contain no less than 5,000 varieties of mountain flowers. After visiting the gardens, we walk in the "Sixt Fer à Cheval" natural arena. Forming the eastern end of the Giffre valley, it is a huge limestone amphitheatre stretching 4 to 5 km, with steep cliffs 500 to 700 metres high. It is the largest alpine mountain cirque (arena). During the month of June, more than thirty waterfalls cascade from the clifftops.

SATURDAY:
Today the nearby Aravis mountains provide us with a dramatic backdrop for our flower exploration. There will be sweeping views across the Arve Valley to Mont Blanc. We explore the meadows featured in the James Bond film "The World is not Enough". Coffee in one of Piers Bronson's mountain haunts before heading back down to our comfortable airconditioned van for the short drive back to the chalet.
